From the Archives is a new series that showcases unique, surprising, and meaningful items from our historical collections. Archivist Hannah Dillemuth and her students will select materials from across the archives and share short features about them on our website and social media. These posts offer a behind-the-scenes look at the stories, objects, and people that shape the history of pharmacy, and invite our community to explore the depth and diversity of our holdings.
These images come from the 1906 Doan’s Birthday Directory published by Foster, Milburn and Co. Each birthday includes a horoscope-like message. Here are the February birthdays. The page also includes some advertisements for Doan’s Kidney Pills “a sure cure” to invigorate the kidney, assist in blood-filtering, and even dissolve poisons!
