Richard Bogard behind the counter of his pharmacy.
Richard Bogard behind the counter of his pharmacy.

On Saturday, April 20, 2019, in Peoria, Illinois, friends and family of Richard H. Bogard will gather in celebration of his life. Dick was a dedicated member of the AIHP, joining in 1954. Born into a pharmacy family, he brought generosity and the insights of a practicing community pharmacist to AIHP annual meetings for decades. Dick died on November 30, 2018, at age 92.

A servant to his profession, Bogard served organized pharmacy in several capacities including a term as president of the Illinois Pharmacists Association.  Dick was a vocal supporter of the Institute and its work.  In 1983, he wrote a piece encouraging Illinois pharmacists to join AIHP stating, “History is one of the most important decision-making tools we have.”  We encourage you to take a moment and read about the life of this remarkable pharmacist in his full obituary.
