Thanks to a generous donor, AIHP was proud to sponsor a table at the Mortar and Pestle Society’s 90th Anniversary Gala, held at the end of September. During the event, AIHP presented the Fischelis Award to Bill Zellmer, BSPharm, MPH, DSc(hon), DHL(hon), FFIP, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of pharmacy history and enduring support of the Institute.
The Fischelis award was established in memory of Robert P. Fischelis (1891–1981)—a visionary leader in pharmacy and a generous benefactor of AIHP. Conferred by the AIHP Board of Directors based on nominations from Institute members, the award recognizes individuals or organizations whose work has significantly advanced both the historical understanding of pharmacy and the mission of the Institute.

AIHP was honored to celebrate this milestone event with members of the Mortar and Pestle Society and to recognize Dr. Zellmer’s exceptional legacy. His decades-long commitment to advancing pharmacy practice and preserving its history exemplify the values that the Fischelis Award seeks to honor.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Zellmer and our sincere thanks to the donor who generosity made this celebration possible.
