The American Institute of the History of Pharmacy is pleased to announce that the first portion of the Eric E. Sterling Collection is now available online through our Digital Library.
Box 1 of the collection has been digitized and is freely accessible to researchers, students, and members of the public interested in the history of drug policy and its impact on healthcare, criminal justice, and society.
The Eric E. Sterling Collection contains documents, publications, speeches, and correspondence from a variety of organizations involved in drug policy discussions and reform efforts. Much of the material was gathered by Eric Sterling during his tenure as Executive Director of the Criminal Justice Policy Foundation, providing insight into the organizations, individuals, and debates that shaped drug policy in the United States.
Making these materials available online expands access to a collection that has previously only been available to onsite researchers. The digitization of Box 1 allows users to explore historical records remotely while helping preserve the original documents for future generations.
The collection also includes newsletters, audiovisual materials, conference proceedings, interviews, and other resources documenting drug education, policy development, and public discourse. AIHP is actively working to digitize additional portions of the collection and make them available online, expanding access to these important historical resources for researchers around the world.
